To the one and only Liew
Once upon a time, Meh Meh went to Ngee Ann Polytechnic. Being much older than the flock she was classmates with at that time, she was a little apprehensive. True enough she was the odd one out as she had no skills in dealing with younger flocks. One such youngling spoke to her and she spurned him. However, the youngling never did give up on her.
Every time he would tell jokes, make funny impersonations, sing spoofed songs or simply just being there to make Meh Meh a happier person.
After three years, it was time to go separate ways. He always tried to reach out to Meh Meh but she was either too lazy or busy to meet up. So when he couldn't see her, he just talked to her or left messages on her MSN. She remembers the times when she would look forward to the quote of the day by him when at work, making work bearable. When he does call her, it never failed to fill her up with joy.
Then one or maybe two years passed, there was almost no contact and Meh Meh, being the one who takes people for granted, finally called him. However, it was too late. All the while when she had the chance to prove that she could be a good friend, she wasted all those opportunities. All the same, he was polite over the phone and messages but the alienation is felt.
Perhaps some day, she can win his friendship back. Perhaps.
